Being the third generation of PJ Union athlete, Amos Ling was not looked highly upon during his younger age. However, through hard work and dedication, he got his first taste of victory at 13 when he won the Malaysia Hopes Singles Champion. From that on, Amos got into the national squad and continued to blossom.
